The Arsenal FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harald Mogren should have stopped the shot. Edu Velloso struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Harald Mogren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jataiense Futebol Clube. 48 minutes into the match, Arsenal FC's goalkeeper Harald Mogren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edu Velloso. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Edu Velloso made the kick off in the second half. When Erling Torstensson fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arsenal FC's protests and gave Erling Torstensson a yellow card for diving instead. Arsenal FC's Harald Mogren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rony Alvarenga in the 54th minute of play. If Rony Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jataiense Futebol Clube's Wellington Moura was substituted for Evandro Novaes. After 91 played minutes Arsenal FC got a freekick which was hit by Claes Linquist. In the 91st minute of the match Wellington Moura sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Harald Mogren skillfully saved the ball.
