Palestra do Interior's Fernando Pras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Themistoklis Von Grimmelhausen in the 17th minute of play. Horea Grigorie hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Babäk Von Bischhoffshausen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Pirani, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Fotbal Club Vaslui's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Pirani came free, but Babäk Von Bischhoffshausen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Babäk Von Bischhoffshausen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelsinho Marinho in the 33rd minute of the match. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fotbal Club Vaslui's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Richard Ríos was slow to take the kick. During this time Palestra do Interior's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Palestra do Interior's corner Perivaldo Carneiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Babäk Von Bischhoffshausen quite easily take care of the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelsinho Marinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Babäk Von Bischhoffshausen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Themistoklis Von Grimmelhausen in the 54th minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Fernando Pras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th match minute, Fotbal Club Vaslui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Crișan to maneuver through the defense. 59 minutes into the game, Sever Fetea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palestra do Interior's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
