The coaching staff of Average Joes protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and William Backman had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Average Joes! Babäk Von Bischhoffshausen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agne Ambjörnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Vilhelm Tolsson's late challenge caught a Fotbal Club Vaslui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vilhelm Tolsson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Average Joes's Vilhelm Tolsson got a free kick in the 30th minute. The supporters of Average Joes booed when Fotbal Club Vaslui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horaţiu Uncheşu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Babäk Von Bischhoffshausen came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Average Joes's Staffan Bäckman. But to his dismay, Staffan Bäckman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. After 45 played minutes Fotbal Club Vaslui got a freekick which was hit by Horea Grigorie. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agne Ambjörnsson made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Average Joes got a freekick which was hit by Agne Ambjörnsson. The audience was convinced that Louis-Philippe von Fallersleben's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jack Westerberg was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 60th minute Bogdan Antonescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jack Westerberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A wasted opportunity for Average Joes. In the 84th minute, Themistoklis Von Grimmelhausen made a precise shot to the right of Jack Westerberg. Average Joes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-3. 91 minutes into the game, Themistoklis Von Grimmelhausen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fotbal Club Vaslui's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Average Joes the free kick.
