Ernani Velasco hit a great ball. In the 30th minute of the match, Mikolaj Giertych tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Allan Varela saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Palestra do Interior's Allan Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikolaj Giertych in the 47th minute of play. The ..Villa Rugby Club.. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Palestra do Interior were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mikolaj Giertych made a kick off. In the 77th minute, Palestra do Interior's Vitório Lago ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Lampe. Carlos Lampe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Reynaldo Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Lampe having to make a save. Allan Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Saúl Menem, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Palestra do Interior played a much better game than ..Villa Rugby Club.. and deserved their victory. The ..Villa Rugby Club.. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
