Octavio Ferrer made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Přemysl Valouch sent off a good shot on target. Jarmil Bůžek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Fidencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute Esteve Abechuco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarmil Bůžek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octavio Ferrer made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Přemysl Valouch sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vasile Furdui got free with Octavio Ferrer in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Přemysl Valouch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Ferrer having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zdeněk Nesládek to make the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match, Esteve Abechuco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jarmil Bůžek saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jarmil Bůžek had great luck who in the 51stth minute grab hold of the ball when Esteve Abechuco from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Hipolito Froila's late challenge caught a SK Slavoj Vyšehrad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
