Fred Nilsson struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Fernando Selatse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for WINNING ELEVEN. 21 minutes in the game, Fred Nilsson dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Despidida AFC's Toro Martínez got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Toro Martínez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Despidida AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Toro Martínez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jake Leonard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kees Harmsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jake Leonard made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Arturo Arano sent off a good shot on target. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Fred Nilsson made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Fred Nilsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. WINNING ELEVEN's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fred Nilsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Fred Nilsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fernando Selatse. That made the score 0-1 in the 56 minute of play. Despidida AFC's Pastor Tino was substituted for Arturo Arano. Despidida AFC's Emiliano Velasco was substituted for Toro Martínez. Jake Leonard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernando Selatse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fred Nilsson in the 64th minute of the match. When Czeslaw Kopacz came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Despidida AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Czeslaw Kopacz couldn't finish the play. WINNING ELEVEN's Jake Leonard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Velasco in the 70th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, WINNING ELEVEN's goal looked a bit too open when Czeslaw Kopacz came free, but Jake Leonard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jake Leonard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Czeslaw Kopacz, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. WINNING ELEVEN's attentive Fulgencio Xabel managed to snatch the ball when Kees Harmsen made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 92nd minute, Ringo Howard fired away a shot on goal. The WINNING ELEVEN players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
