The audience thought a goal was coming when Taaniel Hill got free with Fernando Selatse in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 15 minutes into the game, Despidida AFC's Toro Martínez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Santiago Nataniel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. But to his dismay, Toro Martínez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. If Toro Martínez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Santiago Nataniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toro Martínez, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 60 minutes, Ladislao Salvidor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brown Puerto Madryn and the Despidida AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
