In the 42nd minute Gilberto Nayely shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Abrahamsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Astor Urtun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Abrahamsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Gilberto Nayely might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcus Abrahamsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilberto Nayely ran back to his position shaking his head. If Gilberto Nayely had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilberto Nayely who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Marcus Abrahamsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 86th minute Amável Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Jordão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amado Jordão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Poças in the 88th minute of play. Punk Fiction's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
