After a rather tough play, Memphis Grizzlies's Dave Fleming got a free kick in the 5th minute. The supporters of Memphis Grizzlies booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Viscarra didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hayden Starr in the 12th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Miguel Marin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 20th minute, GuateFortín's Jorge Bonilla seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jorge Bonilla the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of GuateFortín protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jorge Bonilla had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Jorge Bonilla hit a great ball. When Dennys Erazo fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GuateFortín's protests and gave Dennys Erazo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute Freddy Tindale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Marin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Memphis Grizzlies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Fleming to maneuver through the defense. After 33 played minutes Memphis Grizzlies got a freekick which was hit by Harry Johnson. Miguel Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Tindale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th match minute, Memphis Grizzlies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Fleming to maneuver through the defense. Gez Winship showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Viscarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. GuateFortín's Miguel Marin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hayden Starr in the 41st minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carmelo Sandoval to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Hayden Starr came free, but Miguel Marin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gez Winship took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Viscarra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gez Winship showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Viscarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Memphis Grizzlies made a substitution. Ron Mansfield replaced Peter Wiltshire. Memphis Grizzlies's Huey Medley was substituted for Christopher Blythe. Memphis Grizzlies's Lance Mowlem was substituted for Franz Henry. In the 68th minute, Dennys Erazo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ken Blackwater in the 76th minute of play forced GuateFortín's goalkeeper Miguel Marin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Marin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hayden Starr, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmelo Sandoval to maneuver through the defense. Danilo Viscarra's late challenge caught a Memphis Grizzlies's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danilo Viscarra helped the player get up and apologised. Danilo Viscarra hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Carmelo Sandoval sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Memphis Grizzlies left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than GuateFortín.
