In the 3rd minute, Ronaldinho Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 4th match minute, Morro Grande E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Sampaio to maneuver through the defense. Conrado Ubarna was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 11th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Enekoitz to maneuver through the defense. Gláuber Brodel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santos Ioritz in the 13th minute of the match. Enrique Lekubegi made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Habib Ali Picavea sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th match minute, Morro Grande E.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Caca-Rato to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Habib Ali Picavea got free with Enrique Lekubegi in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Habib Ali Picavea in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Ronaldinho Meira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. Palermo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ronaldinho Meira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Habib Ali Picavea came free with the goalkeeper in the 45th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Enrique Lekubegi could save by the left post. With a little luck, Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi got control of the ball when Habib Ali Picavea tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Habib Ali Picavea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Caca-Rato. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Ioritz in the 61st minute of play forced Morro Grande E.C's goalkeeper Gláuber Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Hélder Velasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. Palermo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hélder Velasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Habib Ali Picavea in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute Habib Ali Picavea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Lekubegi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldinho Meira took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enrique Lekubegi. Enrique Lekubegi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Morro Grande E.C's Toninho Soeiro was substituted for Kaká Sampaio. Habib Ali Picavea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Ronaldinho Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Lekubegi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Habib Ali Picavea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Lekubegi. Palermo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Habib Ali Picavea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 92 minutes into the game, Morro Grande E.C's Habib Ali Picavea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Enrique Lekubegi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Enrique Lekubegi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Habib Ali Picavea, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Morro Grande E.C's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
