With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Selatse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gerhart Blegsø made in the 19th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Marcelo Fero. After some careless play in the Stone City defense, Toro Martínez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Slawomir Michalski. The Stone City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Slawomir Michalski should have stopped the shot. In the 26th minute Julio Gomez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Selatse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Gerhart Blegsø in the 31st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Despidida AFC's Arturo Arano. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toro Martínez to make the kick off. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Despidida AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
