Arnaldo Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guo Han Di having to make a save. Guo Han Di made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Arnaldo Queirós sent off a good shot on target. Gösta Brolin made in the 13th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Muhammed-Emir Benice. In the 17th minute, Arnaldo Queirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hummerfiskarna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Queirós came free, but Guo Han Di reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Oldham Athletic booed when Hummerfiskarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bolli Bolla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 played minutes Hummerfiskarna's Conrado Olayo stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Guo Han Di stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Oldham Athletic of the goal. After taking down the ball on Hummerfiskarna's corner Florin Răducioiu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Guo Han Di quite easily take care of the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Queirós cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Guo Han Di was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 37 minutes, Arnaldo Queirós made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Oldham Athletic's Guo Han Di tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Guo Han Di made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Queirós in the 40th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Bolli Bolla made the kick off in the second half. Zhao Yao Ying had several of the Hummerfiskarna's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 55 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-1 score and a disappointed Holger Mattsson as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, Hummerfiskarna's Holger Mattsson got control of the ball when Zhao Yao Ying tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnaldo Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guo Han Di read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Queirós had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guo Han Di. Oldham Athletic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnaldo Queirós was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Guo Han Di came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Hummerfiskarna's Arnaldo Queirós. But to his dismay, Arnaldo Queirós quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Oldham Athletic made a substitution. William Tingelholm replaced Johannes Willig. Zhao Yao Ying could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Holger Mattsson made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Andrea De Toro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hummerfiskarna's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrea De Toro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guo Han Di breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 78 played minutes Hummerfiskarna got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Malmström. In the 87th minute of the match Hummerfiskarna got a corner. Oldham Athletic's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Florin Răducioiu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Tomas Gorbea made a great header on Hummerfiskarna's corner, it was just that Oldham Athletic's Guo Han Di managed to reach the ball for a save. 89 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Andrea De Toro came free, but Guo Han Di reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hummerfiskarna's Bolli Bolla in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The corner led Hummerfiskarna's Florin Răducioiu to fire away a dangerous shot which Guo Han Di despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Oldham Athletic's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
