The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ladislao Gerazan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Martinsson having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felix Martinsson saved LA VIOLA from getting behind. Nova Iguaçu MZFC were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after LA VIOLA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ovidio Marko took the corner. Caco Matos was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 19th minute, Jens-Ove Abrahamsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute Ovidio Marko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Martinsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Martinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 21st minute of play. After 22 minutes LA VIOLA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ovidio Marko who took care of the corner kick. After a defensive mix-up in LA VIOLA's zone, Horaţiu Măcrinici stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Martinsson came out of the goal and Horaţiu Măcrinici tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. LA VIOLA's Felix Martinsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save LA VIOLA from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by LA VIOLA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ovidio Marko was slow to take the kick. During this time Nova Iguaçu MZFC's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ladislao Gerazan got free with Felix Martinsson in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Felix Martinsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Jens-Ove Abrahamsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LA VIOLA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nova Iguaçu MZFC the free kick. After 41 played minutes LA VIOLA got a freekick which was hit by Jens-Ove Abrahamsson. In the 42nd minute, Horaţiu Măcrinici left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Felix Martinsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albert Rutledge made a kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Ladislao Gerazan made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felix Martinsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 57th minute, Ladislao Gerazan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Josef Mohammad hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the match, LA VIOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Horaţiu Măcrinici came free, but Felix Martinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. LA VIOLA's Felix Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Gerazan in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ladislao Gerazan in the 66th minute of play forced LA VIOLA's goalkeeper Felix Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 87 minutes, Horaţiu Măcrinici made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. LA VIOLA's Felix Martinsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felix Martinsson saved LA VIOLA from getting behind. After 94 minutes of play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Ladislao Gerazan made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felix Martinsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Nova Iguaçu MZFC had won after a very even match.
