The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ksawery Pilsudski got free with Vilhelm Brander in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6th match minute, Pogoń Stawiszyn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrzej Marut to maneuver through the defense. Nils Mikaelsson scored 0-2 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damian Jekot, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Pogoń Stawiszyn getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Wojciech Szel hit a great ball. Pogoń Stawiszyn's Damian Jekot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magnus Strömbom in the 18th minute of play. Damian Jekot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Mikaelsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute, Igor Kalemba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hieronim Absolwent hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Pogoń Stawiszyn's goal looked a bit too open when Michael Skoog came free, but Damian Jekot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Åke Galle in the 27th minute of play forced Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalkeeper Damian Jekot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Kronan booed when Pogoń Stawiszyn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nils Mikaelsson to make the kick off. In the 58th minute Michael Skoog shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damian Jekot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damian Jekot was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gwidon Mietus kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. When Zula Cytrynski fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pogoń Stawiszyn's protests and gave Zula Cytrynski a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes Pogoń Stawiszyn got a freekick which was hit by Hieronim Absolwent. 79 minutes into the match, Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalkeeper Damian Jekot had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Michael Skoog. After some careless play in the Pogoń Stawiszyn defense, Nils Mikaelsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damian Jekot. The Pogoń Stawiszyn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damian Jekot should have stopped the shot. Damian Jekot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils Mikaelsson in the 83rd minute of play. Tage Vestlund charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tage Vestlund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Kronan's Tage Vestlund got a free kick in the 85th minute. The supporters of Pogoń Stawiszyn booed when Kronan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Magnus Strömbom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Jekot made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Per-Åke Galle sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Kronan could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Pogoń Stawiszyn throughout the match.
