Ciro Meireles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Pedrinho Guimarães made a huge save. Castanheiro SC's Pedrinho Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Castanheiro SC from getting a goal against them. Édouard Mendy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito Mineiro in the 13th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Anísio Alagoano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Édouard Mendy quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jefferson Maia hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Édouard Mendy came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Castanheiro SC's Umberto Dionísio. But to his dismay, Umberto Dionísio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Léo Ortiz fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Al-Fajuth's protests and gave Léo Ortiz a yellow card for diving instead. Léo Ortiz hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedito Mineiro in the 24th minute of play forced Al-Fajuth's goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseu Alagoano's late challenge caught a Castanheiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseu Alagoano helped the player get up and apologised. Eliseu Alagoano hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Al-Fajuth's goal looked a bit too open when Benedito Mineiro came free, but Édouard Mendy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anísio Alagoano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedrinho Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Umberto Dionísio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Édouard Mendy was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Dionísio in the 36th minute of play forced Al-Fajuth's goalkeeper Édouard Mendy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Al-Fajuth's Ciro Meireles got a free kick in the 37th minute. 45 minutes into the match, Al-Fajuth's goal looked a bit too open when Umberto Dionísio came free, but Édouard Mendy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eliseu Alagoano to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Umberto Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedrinho Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseu Alagoano in the 56th minute of the match. The supporters of Al-Fajuth booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Umberto Dionísio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Édouard Mendy stood somewhat misplaced when Umberto Dionísio came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 64 minute. After some careless play in the Castanheiro SC defense, Eliseu Alagoano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedrinho Guimarães. The Castanheiro SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedrinho Guimarães should have stopped the shot. Fabrício Brunovskis hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Anísio Alagoano, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Al-Fajuth getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Célio Albuquerque hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Al-Fajuth's Célio Albuquerque got a free kick in the 77th minute. Fellipe da Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Al-Fajuth's Maicon Zanette got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafim Cearense during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Serafim Cearense. 84 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseu Alagoano came free, but Pedrinho Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Al-Fajuth's Édouard Mendy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Al-Fajuth from getting a goal against them. Castanheiro SC played a much better game than Al-Fajuth and deserved their victory. The Al-Fajuth players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
