Manly FC's Bart Edwards was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Eriberto Moura in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Şinasi Yoruç kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Manly FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Domenichetti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Moura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manly FC made a substitution. Ace Goodwin replaced Craig Johnston.
