The Hanging Tree's Albino Berenguer quite brazenly broke a throw-in by André Kuipers, made in the 16th minute of the game. Jacinto Panpili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Gallarde in the 28th minute of play. Ruben Montez was a little too slow when Justino Feliz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 1-0. Frederico lago hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Stefan Danielsson who after having made a long run got a chance for a shot on goal. Despite a couple of nice moves Jacinto Panpili's wasn't to be fooled and made an easy save when Stefan Danielsson was beeing forced to shoot. After 38 minutes The Hanging Tree's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mats Hermansson who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Mats Hermansson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jacinto Panpili quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Marcelo Gallarde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rubinho Novaes to make the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match Sven-Erik Asserlind shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ruben Montez showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 55 minutes, Dwi Sunardi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Hanging Tree and the Hala Madrid Iraki FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th match minute, The Hanging Tree was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dwi Sunardi to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, The Hanging Tree's goal looked a bit too open when Rubinho Novaes came free, but Jacinto Panpili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Hanging Tree's Sven-Erik Asserlind was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ruben Montez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. A collision led to Hala Madrid Iraki FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Chip Potterton hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Jacinto Panpili threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rubinho Novaes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Hanging Tree's Nicolas Lia was substituted for Justino Feliz. 86 minutes into the match, The Hanging Tree's goalkeeper Jacinto Panpili had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Genílson Carneiro. Jacinto Panpili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Di Marzio in the 87th minute of the match. The Hanging Tree succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Hala Madrid Iraki FC had controlled the match.
