The Malmö White Knights fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Johnny Banks should have stopped the shot. 7 minutes into the game, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Hector Hugo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johnny Banks made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After some careless play in the Malmö White Knights defense, Hector Hugo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Johnny Banks. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Ignazio Corrales managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Otto Bern in the 15 minute of the game. Johnny Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Hugo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the game, Hector Hugo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Johnny Banks was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Hector Hugo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Johnny Banks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roby Baggio to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute of the match Malmö White Knights got a corner. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Evert Taube ran over to the corner to take the kick. Johnny Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Hugo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurel Crivoi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Elvijs Presley showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-2 in the 61 minute of play. Di Feng Zheng hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Hector Hugo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnny Banks read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. If Marius Neset had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Malmö White Knights was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otto Bern to maneuver through the defense. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Bernt Offendahl was substituted for Alfred Mossberg. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK made a substitution. Paul Hermansson replaced Hector Hugo. Johnny Banks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Hermansson in the 74th minute of the match. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Evert Taube was slow to take the kick. During this time Malmö White Knights's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Evert Taube almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Aurel Crivoi did a great save. In the 79th minute Marius Neset shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johnny Banks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernt Offendahl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malmö White Knights's Johnny Banks played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Neset in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Malmö White Knights's Elvijs Presley ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aurel Crivoi. Aurel Crivoi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-3. Aurel Crivoi made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Elvijs Presley sent off a good shot on target. Johnny Banks came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Radomil Michnik. But to his dismay, Radomil Michnik quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Malmö White Knights for a fine match.
