In the 4th minute, Talleres's Mauricio Manuelo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Karl Pilgren. Karl Pilgren yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Jenipapo SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Mauricio Manuelo scored to the left of an out of position Karl Pilgren, making the score, 2-0. Jorge Martínez kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Vinicio Junior got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Josef Tunberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Pilgren having to interfere. In the 19thth minute of the game Mauricio Manuelo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jenipapo SC's Karl Pilgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Karl Pilgren had great luck who in the 19thth minute grab hold of the ball when Mauricio Manuelo from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 20 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Karl Pilgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Tab. 22 minutes into the match, Aníbal Alagoano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cecilio Lastur. Talleres's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aníbal Alagoano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 25th minute of the match, Alfredo Tab got a very nice opportunity to score, but Karl Pilgren was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 26th minute, Ricardinho Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Manuelo came free, but Karl Pilgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauricio Manuelo struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Karl Pilgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Talleres. 36 minutes into the match, Talleres's Josef Tunberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl Pilgren narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Josef Tunberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Karl Pilgren made a huge save. Jenipapo SC's Karl Pilgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Tab in the 39th minute of play. After 40 minutes Jenipapo SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Perico Pérez who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Talleres's corner Perico Pérez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Karl Pilgren quite easily take care of the ball. Karl Pilgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Manuelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Vinicio Junior's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cecilio Lastur read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.

Talleres's Lukita Modrić was substituted for Sergiu Bulencea. The wind increased when Mauricio Manuelo made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Talleres's goalkeeper Cecilio Lastur had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardinho Pena. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josef Tunberg in the 55th minute of play forced Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper Karl Pilgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Talleres's Cecilio Lastur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Junior in the 58th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Peker Durusoy's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl Pilgren was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 63rd minute, one of Jenipapo SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jenipapo SC. Zé Carlos Monteiro hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Josef Tunberg hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Karl Pilgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauricio Manuelo in the 74th minute of play. After some careless play in the Jenipapo SC defense, Josef Tunberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl Pilgren. The Jenipapo SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl Pilgren should have stopped the shot. Ricardinho Pena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Cecilio Lastur made a huge save. Karl Pilgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo Tab's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Karl Pilgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josef Tunberg in the 84th minute of the match. In the 85th minute of the match, Ricardinho Pena sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Cecilio Lastur showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. Vinicio Junior hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Izydor Bugajski took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Karl Pilgren. Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Talleres fans cheered their team off the field, for while Jenipapo SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
