Robbie Fowler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Alonso Suloaga made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Fleming Wal in the 12th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by 蚂蚁在路上's 杜寒强. Robbie Fowler struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Alonso Suloaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manly FC. Alonso Suloaga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robbie Fowler in the 19th minute. Sydney Ross came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by 蚂蚁在路上's Fatih Özbay. But to his dismay, Fatih Özbay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 23 minutes into the match, Manly FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fatih Özbay came free, but Sydney Ross reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Fatih Özbay came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the 蚂蚁在路上 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fatih Özbay couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Manly FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Pete Wittber hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Manly FC defense, Fatih Özbay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sydney Ross. The Manly FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sydney Ross should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by 柯国南 in the 34th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Manly FC's Pete Wittber. The throw-in from 柯国南 in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Manly FC's Pete Wittber. After having played for 40 minutes, Robbie Fowler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manly FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robbie Fowler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 蚂蚁在路上's 柯国南 quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pete Wittber, made in the 42nd minute of the game. Sydney Ross took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fatih Özbay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robbie Fowler made a kick off. Alonso Suloaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robbie Fowler in the 57th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Gilbert Limanowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 蚂蚁在路上's Bengt-Arne Moberg was substituted for 尤默烽. A collision led to 蚂蚁在路上 getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Gilbert Limanowski hit a great ball. In the 59th minute of the match Mourad Rocchi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alonso Suloaga skillfully saved the ball. 赵烽亦 hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. When Fleming Wal fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manly FC's protests and gave Fleming Wal a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes Manly FC got a freekick which was hit by Fleming Wal. Alonso Suloaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbie Fowler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 蚂蚁在路上's 柯国南 quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Pete Wittber, made in the 72nd minute of the game. Manly FC's Sydney Ross proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Manly FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Manly FC booed when 蚂蚁在路上 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. 杜寒强 didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alonso Suloaga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. 蚂蚁在路上 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
