The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Robbie Fowler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Real Södertälje's goal looked a bit too open when Robbie Fowler came free, but Kent Berggren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Robbie Fowler notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Real Södertälje's Kent Berggren. Kent Berggren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kent Berggren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Fowler in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Manly FC's Robbie Fowler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kent Berggren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After some careless play in the Real Södertälje defense, Robbie Fowler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kent Berggren. The Real Södertälje fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kent Berggren should have stopped the shot. Manly FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
