Malcolm Neal hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 6 minutes into the match, Real Södertälje's Zinedine Zidan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tuan Libby narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Real Södertälje defense, Malcolm Neal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kent Berggren. The Real Södertälje fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kent Berggren should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Malcolm Neal in the 13th minute of play forced Real Södertälje's goalkeeper Kent Berggren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Real Södertälje's Kent Berggren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Malcolm Neal in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to Zamalek FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Bennett Waddell hit a great ball. Alfredo Stefano took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tuan Libby. Tuan Libby dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. If Wiktor Söderqwist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th match minute, Zamalek FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dillon Reynolds to maneuver through the defense. Joar Tunström hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute of the match Virgil Calderwood shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kent Berggren showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Zamalek FC's Bennett Waddell got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Real Södertälje's Alfredo Stefano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tuan Libby. Tuan Libby yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Kent Berggren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Malcolm Neal in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredo Stefano was the one to do the kick off. Joar Tunström took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tuan Libby. Zamalek FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alfredo Stefano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tuan Libby having to interfere. After having played for 60 minutes, Alfredo Stefano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Södertälje's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Stefano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfredo Stefano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joar Tunström during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Alfredo Stefano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tuan Libby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Stefano, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute, Edwin Siggman had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Real Södertälje made a substitution. Jarl Svanér replaced Edwin Siggman. A collision led to Zamalek FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Virgil Calderwood hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Jake Howard took a quick shot and it went in 3-4 without a chance for Kent Berggren to make any attempt to save it. In the 95th match minute, Real Södertälje was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Stefano to maneuver through the defense. Zamalek FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
