With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renátó Csernyi in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pål Sefastsson saved National Team Cape-Verde from getting behind. In the 24th minute of the match FC Jamala got a corner. National Team Cape-Verde's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amador Ishmael ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslav Maixner in the 26th minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When FC Jamala's Miroslav Maixner in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Pål Sefastsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miroslav Maixner's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 41st minute Renátó Csernyi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pål Sefastsson came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Jamala's Renátó Csernyi. But to his dismay, Renátó Csernyi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. National Team Cape-Verde made a substitution. Henrik Örnberg replaced Karl-Ove Sörman. Cris Montoia kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Miroslav Maixner to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miroslav Maixner got free with Pål Sefastsson in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hjalmar Browald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Shi Bang Xiang tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shi Bang Xiang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hjalmar Browald, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Shi Bang Xiang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Broberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Renátó Csernyi managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Jamala's supporters rose to their feet, but Renátó Csernyi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pål Sefastsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of National Team Cape-Verde booed when FC Jamala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakša Lalović didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shi Bang Xiang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hjalmar Browald in the 78th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, National Team Cape-Verde's Hjalmar Browald nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Shi Bang Xiang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Alex Broberg took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shi Bang Xiang. Shi Bang Xiang dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Hjalmar Browald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shi Bang Xiang having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henning Eriksson. A collision led to FC Jamala getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jakša Lalović hit a great ball. In the 91st minute Alex Broberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shi Bang Xiang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pål Sefastsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renátó Csernyi in the 93rd minute. 93 minutes into the match, Renátó Csernyi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pål Sefastsson, 2-2. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
