Henk Cardinaal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but André Luiz de Barros made a huge save. A collision led to De Pelgrims getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Henk Cardinaal hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Vatan Kambay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Zoetmulder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Donato came free, but Mike Zoetmulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henk Cardinaal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Luiz de Barros having to make a save. After a rather tough play, De Pelgrims's Henk Cardinaal got a free kick in the 92nd minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. De Pelgrims fully deserved thier win.
