An unexpectedly hard shot by Rikard Wolff in the 3rd minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Real Södertälje's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Reynaldo Cerezo in the 8th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bennvar Nickler in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mike Zoetmulder saved De Pelgrims from getting behind. Carsten Eckstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk Cardinaal, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Rikard Wolff received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mike Zoetmulder came out and tried to block the shot, but Rikard Wolff slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 20th minute. Mike Zoetmulder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bennvar Nickler in the 23rd minute. Mike Zoetmulder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rikard Wolff, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute Henk Cardinaal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carsten Eckstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Real Södertälje's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fu Peng Feng was slow to take the kick. During this time De Pelgrims's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Twan Mol got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carsten Eckstein quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by De Pelgrims's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Reynaldo Cerezo was slow to take the kick. During this time Real Södertälje's players had a chance to rest. Carsten Eckstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Real Södertälje's goal looked a bit too open when Perivaldo Eger came free, but Carsten Eckstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carsten Eckstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo Eger in the 43rd minute of play. If Bennvar Nickler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bennvar Nickler to make the kick off. Real Södertälje's Carsten Eckstein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Real Södertälje from getting a goal against them. In the 60th minute Rikard Wolff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Zoetmulder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mike Zoetmulder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bennvar Nickler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Real Södertälje's Evelio Rico was substituted for Jakob Källberg. 71 minutes into the match, Huub Gerrits notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Real Södertälje's Carsten Eckstein. Carsten Eckstein was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mike Zoetmulder came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Real Södertälje's Bennvar Nickler. But to his dismay, Bennvar Nickler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Real Södertälje's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
