The audience was convinced that Vatan Kambay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pål Sefastsson was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. But to his dismay, Andriy Shevchenko quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Pål Sefastsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andriy Shevchenko in the 70th minute of the match. A.D Leônico's Alfredo Catarinense was substituted for Osmar dos Santos. National Team Cape-Verde's Viggo Rang was substituted for Andriy Shevchenko. After a rather tough play, National Team Cape-Verde's Şahap Özgu got a free kick in the 71st minute.
