An unexpectedly hard shot by Estevão Reis in the 14th minute of play forced De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 21 minutes, Huub Gerrits managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. De Pelgrims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Huub Gerrits was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Perivaldo Eger was the one to do the kick off. Egun Zapico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias de Ruijter in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of ṨOḰᾋḰ ĿᾋṂϐᾋṨἿ ™ﻨ booed when De Pelgrims was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perivaldo Eger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mehmet Hakkı Kuthan might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mike Zoetmulder. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
