After a defensive mix-up in O.T.E's zone, Tivadar Demeter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Javier García came out of the goal and Tivadar Demeter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Javier García showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 23rd minute of the match. Arnold Szuper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cuero Buseth in the 24th minute of play. When Tivadar Demeter came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Szombathely Squirrels fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tivadar Demeter couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute, Tivadar Demeter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Javier García was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 34 played minutes Tivadar Demeter rounded O.T.E's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-0. Javier García didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tivadar Demeter went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Szombathely Squirrels's József Varga managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Akis Lazariadis in the 46 minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tivadar Demeter to make the kick off. Javier García showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tivadar Demeter in the 53rd minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lei Jian Xiong couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the O.T.E players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Szombathely Squirrels.
