Retumbante FC's Apat Reina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Epaminondas Baba in the 22nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deng Yue Zhen in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Apat Reina saved Retumbante FC from getting behind. Epaminondas Baba took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Apat Reina. Apat Reina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Batalhão do Peçanha were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kauã Mandrak made a kick off. José Paulo Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vânderson Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Tróia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Apat Reina made a huge save. If Deng Yue Zhen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Tróia's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Apat Reina firmly grabbed it by the left post. With 67 minutes on the clock, Michel de Queirós commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Retumbante FC's Fabinho Bittencourt was substituted for José Paulo Mendonça. Retumbante FC's Luiz Fernando Mota was substituted for Danilo Nogueira. Apat Reina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deng Yue Zhen in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Décio Antonio in the 74th minute of play forced Batalhão do Peçanha's goalkeeper Petr Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Retumbante FC booed when Batalhão do Peçanha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Ola Gunnarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apat Reina made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Epaminondas Baba sent off a good shot on target. When Batalhão do Peçanha's Vânderson Vasconcelos in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 85th match minute, Retumbante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Belmiro Mello to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Epaminondas Baba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Batalhão do Peçanha's supporters rose to their feet, but Epaminondas Baba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apat Reina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Batalhão do Peçanha could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Retumbante FC throughout the match.
