The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bradley Brasseur took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edward Preston. Egg Chasers FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Egg Chasers FC's Danny Booth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brent Daigle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aldo Maldonado hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Don Major from long distance, 10 minutes into the match, got Brent Daigle's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Bradley Blueman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alistair Riley came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Egg Chasers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alistair Riley couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Jay Palmer came free, but Brent Daigle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirby Siegel in the 28th minute of play forced Egg Chasers FC's goalkeeper Edward Preston to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rueben Rosas fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sport Lisboa e Benfica's protests and gave Rueben Rosas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sport Lisboa e Benfica getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Rueben Rosas hit a great ball. Brent Daigle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pete Partridge in the 39th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Mario Gleason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The wind increased when Pete Partridge made the kick off in the second half. Mario Gleason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edward Preston having to interfere. When Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Kirby Siegel in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Egg Chasers FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 53rdth minute of the game Kirby Siegel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Egg Chasers FC's Edward Preston was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Egg Chasers FC were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Sport Lisboa e Benfica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Don Major took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalie and right to Bradley Blueman. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Brent Daigle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pete Partridge, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pete Partridge in the 63rd minute of play forced Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Brent Daigle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brent Daigle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pete Partridge in the 65th minute of play. The supporters of Sport Lisboa e Benfica booed when Egg Chasers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danny Booth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edward Preston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Gleason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Brent Daigle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pete Partridge in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute of the match Egg Chasers FC got a corner. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Don Major ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bradley Blueman in the 78th minute of play forced Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Brent Daigle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th match minute, Sport Lisboa e Benfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rueben Rosas to maneuver through the defense. Steve Knott's late challenge caught a Sport Lisboa e Benfica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Steve Knott helped the player get up and apologised. Steve Knott kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Bradley Brasseur took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edward Preston. Egg Chasers FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Edward Preston came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Mario Gleason. But to his dismay, Mario Gleason quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1.

For all the effort they put into the match, the Sport Lisboa e Benfica players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Egg Chasers FC.
