Edu Terra might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Maria Branco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edu Terra ran back to his position shaking his head. 11 minutes into the match, Marcelinho do Valle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manga Santos. MACUMBA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelinho do Valle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. José Maria Branco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edu Terra in the 19th minute. Manga Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcel Sanches's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Manga Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Sanches in the 27th minute of play. MACUMBA's Manga Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho do Valle in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Turabi Paksan in the 35th minute of play forced MACUMBA's goalkeeper Manga Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 played minutes Bem Bolado got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Augusto Neto. After a defensive mix-up in Bem Bolado's zone, Mazinho Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Maria Branco came out of the goal and Mazinho Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Jofre's late challenge caught a Bem Bolado's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edu Terra made a kick off. Marcel Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Manga Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edu Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Maria Branco having to interfere. Bem Bolado made a substitution. Augusto Mesquita replaced José Carlos Siqueira. MACUMBA made a substitution. Dagoberto Neves replaced Mazinho Correia. José Maria Branco came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by MACUMBA's Edu Terra. But to his dismay, Edu Terra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Edu Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot. MACUMBA's supporters rose to their feet, but Edu Terra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Maria Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. MACUMBA made a substitution. Gil Proença replaced Suphi Tanbek. MACUMBA made a substitution. Orlando Coelho replaced Edu Terra. The supporters of Bem Bolado booed when MACUMBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. MACUMBA's Orlando Coelho got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, MACUMBA's Feliciano Jaen got a free kick in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the match, MACUMBA's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Sanches came free, but Manga Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Alves got free with Manga Santos in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Feliciano Jaen fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MACUMBA's protests and gave Feliciano Jaen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MACUMBA getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Feliciano Jaen hit a great ball. After having played for 99 minutes, Orlando Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MACUMBA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Orlando Coelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
