When Fausto Timo fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rafaela FC's protests and gave Fausto Timo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ booed when Rafaela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fausto Timo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Baiano in the 15th minute of play forced Rafaela FC's goalkeeper Prospero Calvino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute, Martin Hurko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rafaela FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 20 played minutes Rafaela FC got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Locaio. After a rather tough play, Rafaela FC's Zeledon Locaio got a free kick in the 25th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Rafaela FC's Martin Hurko slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Claudinei Pombal. That made the score 2-1 after 30 minutes of play. In the 33rd minute of the game, Beto Madureira landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Eriberto Navarro hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Fausto Timo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Martin Hurko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rafaela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Hurko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ's zone, Fausto Timo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudinei Pombal came out of the goal and Fausto Timo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

After 56 played minutes Rafaela FC got a freekick which was hit by Juan Perpinya. In the 69th minute Adan Gonsalvo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinei Pombal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavinho Queiroz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Prospero Calvino made a huge save. Zeledon Locaio kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Adan Gonsalvo charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adan Gonsalvo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 78 played minutes Rafaela FC got a freekick which was hit by Adan Gonsalvo. After a defensive mix-up in Rafaela FC's zone, Percy Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Prospero Calvino came out of the goal and Percy Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Perpinya during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd match minute, Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percy Neto to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th match minute, Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vinícius Porto to maneuver through the defense. Adan Gonsalvo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Claudinei Pombal. Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some careless play in the Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ defense, Fausto Timo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinei Pombal. The Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinei Pombal should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Timo in the 92nd minute of play forced Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ's goalkeeper Claudinei Pombal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 minutes, Nilmar Nascimento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ and the Rafaela FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th minute, Nilmar Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 played minutes, Rafaela FC's Adan Gonsalvo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Claudinei Pombal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rafaela FC reached it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Nabucodonosor E.C. FPRMZ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Rafaela FC.
