Amauri Pernambucano struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Prospero Calvino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.C. Ferrari. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Penha took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Prospero Calvino to make any attempt to save it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erasmo de Sousa during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for S.C. Ferrari! The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
