Luis Selatse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Somellera in the 16th minute of the match. Marcelo Rocio came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Matro Perramon could save by the left post. In the 23rd minute Geleberto Acaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Selatse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Txatxu charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricardo Txatxu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 24th minute, Ricardo Txatxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Muc was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the game, one of Timo!:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Rene Ilixo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Universitario booed when Timo! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Stanislao didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luis Selatse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geleberto Acaro in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Universitario's Bonifacio Morentin got a free kick in the 41st minute. Universitario's Matro Perramon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Ilixo in the 42nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rene Ilixo made a kick off. Matro Perramon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rene Ilixo's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Rene Ilixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Garcia Gorostieta kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amancio Ceandro during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 61st minute Andy Somellera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Selatse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 played minutes Timo! got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Stanislao. Timo!'s Luis Selatse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vidal Cantabrana in the 71st minute of play. Guillen Mijangos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Luis Selatse tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Timo!'s Lucio Franco got a free kick in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Geleberto Acaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Universitario's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Timo! the free kick. After 86 played minutes Universitario got a freekick which was hit by Geleberto Acaro. 87 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Txatxu came free, but Matro Perramon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Selatse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vidal Cantabrana in the 89th minute of the match. Universitario were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Timo!'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bonifacio Morentin took the corner.
