The audience thought a goal was coming when Adan Gonsalvo got free with Luis Selatse in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Prospero Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Rocio, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Txatxu in the 6th minute of play forced Rafaela FC's goalkeeper Prospero Calvino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Timo!'s Luis Selatse got control of the ball when Adan Gonsalvo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Prospero Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Stanislao, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 12th match minute, Timo! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arsenio Esquipula to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute of the match, Juan Perpinya got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luis Selatse was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Juan Perpinya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Selatse having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Rene Ilixo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Prospero Calvino. Rafaela FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rene Ilixo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rafaela FC's Prospero Calvino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Stanislao in the 29th minute of play. In the 34th minute of the match, Juan Perpinya got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luis Selatse was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Prospero Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cipriano Stanislao, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Arsenio Esquipula's late challenge caught a Rafaela FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arsenio Esquipula helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, Cipriano Stanislao ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Prospero Calvino was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

55 minutes into the game, Rene Ilixo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Prospero Calvino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Timo! booed when Rafaela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Locaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Marcelo Rocio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Prospero Calvino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Rocio in the 61st minute of play. During the 67th minute of the match Arsenio Esquipula completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Arsenio Esquipula a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 68 played minutes Timo! got a freekick which was hit by Arsenio Esquipula. In the 70th minute, Ricardo Txatxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Selatse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Timo in the 79th minute of play. In the 87th minute Ricardo Txatxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Prospero Calvino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Rafaela FC defense, Lucio Franco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Prospero Calvino. The Rafaela FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Prospero Calvino should have stopped the shot. The Timo! players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
