Prospero Calvino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guillen Mijangos went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 15 minutes, Rogelio Amato mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rafaela FC and the Universitario players grew even worse after the yellow card. Universitario made a substitution. Restu Pineda replaced Garcia Gorostieta. In the 17th minute, Rogelio Amato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Universitario's Andy Somellera got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th match minute, Universitario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Agranja to maneuver through the defense. Rafaela FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 35th minute, Vidal Cantabrana made a precise shot to the right of Prospero Calvino. Rafaela FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 38 minutes into the match, Universitario's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Timo came free, but Matro Perramon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adan Gonsalvo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andy Somellera to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Adan Gonsalvo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rafaela FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. A collision led to Rafaela FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ivan Jon hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Geleberto Acaro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Universitario fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Prospero Calvino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillen Mijangos in the 64th minute of play. Prospero Calvino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Somellera in the 65th minute of the match. Ivan Jon's late challenge caught a Universitario's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ivan Jon helped the player get up and apologised. Ivan Jon kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Geleberto Acaro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Prospero Calvino made a huge save. If Guillen Mijangos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Perpinya charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Perpinya the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Universitario booed when Rafaela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Perpinya didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 84 minutes, Adan Gonsalvo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rafaela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adan Gonsalvo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Somellera in the 88th minute of play forced Rafaela FC's goalkeeper Prospero Calvino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eriberto Navarro hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Bonifacio Morentin got in the 95th minute a good position and tried a long shot which to a great surprise passed a very astonished Prospero Calvino. This was a shot which ended in a score of 2-4. Universitario played a much better game than Rafaela FC and deserved their victory. The Rafaela FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
