The supporters of Universitario booed when Rafaela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roque Marko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garcia Gorostieta's late challenge caught a Rafaela FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Garcia Gorostieta helped the player get up and apologised. In the 8th match minute, Universitario was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garcia Gorostieta to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Universitario's zone, Adan Gonsalvo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matro Perramon came out of the goal and Adan Gonsalvo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th minute, Karlo Gavilanes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Universitario's Cristobal Agranja got a free kick in the 13th minute. Prospero Calvino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andy Somellera in the 14th minute. Matro Perramon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Perpinya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matro Perramon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Martin Hurko went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Geleberto Acaros short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Prospero Calvino to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 28thth minute of the game Martin Hurko who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Universitario's Matro Perramon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 30 minutes into the match, Rafaela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andy Somellera came free, but Prospero Calvino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martin Hurko took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matro Perramon. Matro Perramon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Fausto Timo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Matro Perramon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Karlo Gavilanes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matro Perramon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Hurko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Universitario players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rafaela FC were winning 0-2.

Rafaela FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Universitario the free kick. Andy Somellera struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Rafaela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Hurko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Rafaela FC's Martin Hurko slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matro Perramon. That made the score 0-3 after 86 minutes of play. Prospero Calvino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geleberto Acaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rafaela FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
