Lisandro Ihintza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ragnar Wallander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Nogueira in the 13th minute of the match. Ragnar Wallander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Nogueira in the 16th minute of play. Jim Frykberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Ihintza having to interfere. Sérgio Maia scored 1-2 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ragnar Wallander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, AIF's Alfred Sandström got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Lisandro Ihintza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Ove Ahlbom, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Klas Njurenius sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Lisandro Ihintza threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Klas Njurenius this time. In the 46th minute Sérgio Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ragnar Wallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The AIF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jung 1972 were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl-Ove Ahlbom was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Ove Ahlbom in the 50th minute of play forced Jung 1972's goalkeeper Lisandro Ihintza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 52nd minute of the match AIF got a corner. Jung 1972's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bianco Tacco ran over to the corner to take the kick. AIF's Bianco Tacco was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lisandro Ihintza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jung 1972's Lisandro Ihintza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Ove Ahlbom in the 57th minute of play. In the 60th minute Sérgio Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ragnar Wallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jung 1972's Ali Toral was substituted for Basílio Nogueira. In the 66th minute, Jung 1972's Sérgio Maia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Ali Toral's late challenge caught a AIF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. AIF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ali Toral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. When the match was over Jung 1972 could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AIF throughout the match.
