IFK Göteborg's Håkan Deckbergh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Estavan in the 8th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Ernesto Estavan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Håkan Deckbergh. IFK Göteborg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernesto Estavan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 12 minutes into the match, IFK Göteborg's goal looked a bit too open when Arnoldo Orgaz came free, but Håkan Deckbergh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Club Atlethico Talleres booed when IFK Göteborg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitaliy Krylatov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the IFK Göteborg defense, Ranko Kvarantan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Håkan Deckbergh. The IFK Göteborg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Håkan Deckbergh should have stopped the shot. 16 minutes into the game, Ranko Kvarantan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Håkan Deckbergh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 19th minute, Ernesto Estavan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Moises Ermengol took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Håkan Deckbergh. Håkan Deckbergh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. After 28 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Bosse Laden. IFK Göteborg's Håkan Deckbergh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Ermengol in the 31st minute of play. Håkan Deckbergh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Orgaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the game, Tang Xi Qing was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. IFK Göteborg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlethico Talleres the free kick. In the 34th minute, Tang Xi Qing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Håkan Deckbergh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernesto Estavan went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. Håkan Deckbergh came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlethico Talleres's Ernesto Estavan. But to his dismay, Ernesto Estavan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Håkan Deckbergh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Ermengol went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-9 was the resulting score. After the first half Club Atlethico Talleres were leading 0-9. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the match, Moises Ermengol dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Håkan Deckbergh, 0-10. Ranko Kvarantan scored 0-11 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Håkan Deckbergh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Arnoldo Orgaz took a quick shot and it went in 0-12 without a chance for Håkan Deckbergh to make any attempt to save it. After 62 minutes of play, Club Atlethico Talleres's Ernesto Estavan made it 0-13 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Håkan Deckbergh was left in no man's land by his defense there! IFK Göteborg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Moises Ermengol scored to the left of an out of position Håkan Deckbergh, making the score, 0-14. Håkan Deckbergh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Ermengol in the 71st minute of the match. Håkan Deckbergh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Moises Ermengol went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-15 was the resulting score. Håkan Deckbergh didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ranko Kvarantan went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-16 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ranko Kvarantan got free with Håkan Deckbergh in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ernesto Estavan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Håkan Deckbergh made a huge save. When Arnoldo Orgaz came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Club Atlethico Talleres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnoldo Orgaz couldn't finish the play. Ernesto Estavan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Håkan Deckbergh made a huge save. Håkan Deckbergh was a little too slow when Moises Ermengol got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 0-17. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Moises Ermengol took a quick shot and it went in 0-19 without a chance for Håkan Deckbergh to make any attempt to save it. Basilio Jobo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthias Ahlstedt in the 97th minute of the match. Club Atlethico Talleres's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
