Limburg United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Björn Kamp ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Björn Kamp got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sean Van Dijck quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sotiris Zacharakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Sean Van Dijck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 36 minutes of play, Limburg United's Joris De Raeve made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Limburg United's Sean Van Dijck proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Limburg United from getting a goal against them. Ronaldão Mendonça might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sean Van Dijck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronaldão Mendonça ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

After having played for 52 minutes, Santiago Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ΠΑΟΚ FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Santiago Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sean Van Dijck was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ΠΑΟΚ FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Limburg United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
