In the 7th match minute, Grütly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Oliviero to maneuver through the defense. Epifanio Boniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sotiris Zacharakis in the 12th minute of play. Zheng Yang Zhen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Epifanio Boniel having to make a save. Zheng Yang Zhen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Epifanio Boniel made a huge save. Zheng Yang Zhen in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Epifanio Boniel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Grütly's Tomas Oliviero got a free kick in the 17th minute. The audience was convinced that Zheng Yang Zhen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Epifanio Boniel was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Zheng Yang Zhen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Epifanio Boniel made a huge save. With a little luck, Grütly's Epifanio Boniel got control of the ball when Sotiris Zacharakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Elpidio Gabrio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grütly's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ΠΑΟΚ FC the free kick. Epifanio Boniel made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Zheng Yang Zhen sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelino Eguerdi in the 43rd minute of play forced ΠΑΟΚ FC's goalkeeper Özbek Samet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sotiris Zacharakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Epifanio Boniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Grütly made a substitution. Tadeo Frichoso replaced Benito Bizi. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Oliviero to strike the kick off in the second half. Epifanio Boniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sotiris Zacharakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grütly's Epifanio Boniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zheng Yang Zhen in the 62nd minute of play. Tomas Oliviero hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. A collision led to Grütly getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Tomas Oliviero hit a great ball. Epifanio Boniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zheng Yang Zhen in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute Zheng Yang Zhen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Boniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Epifanio Boniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sotiris Zacharakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 78 minutes, Zheng Yang Zhen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ΠΑΟΚ FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zheng Yang Zhen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Özbek Samet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elpidio Gabrio in the 86th minute. Cristo Rolado's late challenge caught a Grütly's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristo Rolado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th minute, Cristo Rolado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 89th minute of the match Fidel Gomesano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Özbek Samet skillfully saved the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Grütly's goal looked a bit too open when Zheng Yang Zhen came free, but Epifanio Boniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ΠΑΟΚ FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
