Thomás Toscano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 12 played minutes Memphis Grizzlies got a freekick which was hit by Grant Andrews. Mohamed Basso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 24 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Theobold came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Capibaribe Stars's Mohamed Basso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mattias Sawyer. Mattias Sawyer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After 28 played minutes, Capibaribe Stars's Jarl Rossebø shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mattias Sawyer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Capibaribe Stars reached it. Mohamed Basso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Capibaribe Stars's Mohamed Basso got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tony Jones hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Mattias Sawyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mohamed Basso in the 38th minute of the match. Thomás Toscano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ty Hislop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Memphis Grizzlies's Mattias Sawyer got control of the ball when Mohamed Basso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Romeo Crocker charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romeo Crocker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Romeo Crocker kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ty Hislop made a kick off. Mattias Sawyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pan Zhi Peng in the 56th minute of play. Capibaribe Stars's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wilton Fontes in the 57th minute. After taking down the ball on Capibaribe Stars's corner Wilton Fontes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mattias Sawyer quite easily take care of the ball. Mohamed Basso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mattias Sawyer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Ty Hislop struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Thomás Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Memphis Grizzlies. Memphis Grizzlies made a substitution. Vinicio Carballeira replaced Ty Hislop. Memphis Grizzlies's Jack Greenfield was substituted for Ian Prutton. In the 72nd minute of the match Capibaribe Stars got a corner. Memphis Grizzlies's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wilton Fontes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Capibaribe Stars's Hicham Al Azka got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A sloppy throw-in by Nicky Sansom in the 79th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Capibaribe Stars's Pan Zhi Peng. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper Mattias Sawyer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mohamed Basso in the 84th minute of play forced Memphis Grizzlies's goalkeeper Mattias Sawyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mattias Sawyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohamed Basso, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Hicham Al Azka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Mattias Sawyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicky Sansom got a throw-in 93 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Vinicio Carballeira. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Capibaribe Stars players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
