Club El Progreso were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Abuba Akotonon FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adolfo Fidensio took the corner. Club El Progreso's Adolfo Fidensio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 6th minute Indiana Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pajo Pajot fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club El Progreso's protests and gave Pajo Pajot a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Club El Progreso's Pajo Pajot got a free kick in the 7th minute. Cecilio Tristan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Tino having to interfere. In the 12th minute Indiana Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cecilio Tristan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Indiana Jones fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Club El Progreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Fidensio to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cleto Cordaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 32nd minute Pajo Pajot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Indiana Jones in the 35th minute of the match. After 36 played minutes Abuba Akotonon FC got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Garay. With a little luck, Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino got control of the ball when Cecilio Tristan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cecilio Tristan got free with Benjamin Tino in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

54 minutes into the match, Abuba Akotonon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Indiana Jones came free, but Hugo Orlando Gatti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Abuba Akotonon FC's Ramón Garay got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 55th minute of the match Adolfo Fidensio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Orlando Gatti showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goal looked a bit too open when Cecilio Tristan came free, but Benjamin Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cleto Cordaro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to make a save. Club El Progreso's Matías Kranevitter was substituted for Pajo Pajot. Washington Papa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hugo Orlando Gatti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Indiana Jones in the 76th minute. Cleto Cordaro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hugo Orlando Gatti came out and tried to block the shot, but Cleto Cordaro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 78th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goal looked a bit too open when Cecilio Tristan came free, but Benjamin Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Abuba Akotonon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Indiana Jones came free, but Hugo Orlando Gatti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute Indiana Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cleto Cordaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to interfere. Club El Progreso played a much better game than Abuba Akotonon FC and deserved their victory. The Abuba Akotonon FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
