The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Falckner FC's goalkeeper Urmet Rammu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Falckner FC's Gianluca Vialli got a free kick in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gianluca Vialli in the 15th minute of play forced Nas Horas Vagas F.C's goalkeeper Hugo Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, Lúcio Pitta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nas Horas Vagas F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lúcio Pitta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 21 minutes of play, Falckner FC's Gianluca Vialli made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugo Furlan was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 23rd minute, Narciso Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugo Furlan came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Falckner FC's Gianluca Vialli. But to his dismay, Gianluca Vialli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 30th minute, Ovidio Bakar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Urmet Rammu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Lúcio Pitta's late challenge caught a Falckner FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lúcio Pitta helped the player get up and apologised. In the 34th minute, Lúcio Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the game, Falckner FC's Ovidio Bakar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugo Furlan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After a rather tough play, Nas Horas Vagas F.C's Narciso Barbosa got a free kick in the 41st minute. Hugo Furlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gianluca Vialli's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nelson Dantas to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Gianluca Vialli kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hugo Furlan. That made the score 0-5 in the 56 minute of play. Hugo Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Inge in the 63rd minute of play. Gianluca Vialli who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Hugo Furlan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Gianluca Vialli sped through Nas Horas Vagas F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hugo Furlan. André Damásio might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hugo Furlan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Damásio ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugo Furlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Damásio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Falckner FC's André Damásio in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nas Horas Vagas F.C's goalie prevented a goal. Urmet Rammu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nelson Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Prospero Kiliz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Hugo Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugo Furlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Damásio, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nas Horas Vagas F.C's goalkeeper Hugo Furlan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. André Damásio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hugo Furlan having to make a save. Hugo Furlan made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when André Damásio sent off a good shot on target. Hugo Furlan came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Falckner FC's André Damásio. But to his dismay, André Damásio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. André Damásio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Domingo Gimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
