If Jude Monkhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. La Maquina 9-12-18's Jose Vimaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jude Monkhouse in the 14th minute of play. Jose Vimaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jude Monkhouse in the 16th minute of the match. Jose Vimaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jude Monkhouse in the 18th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Várzea F.C.'s corner Aloísio Secco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jose Vimaro quite easily take care of the ball. La Maquina 9-12-18's Jose Vimaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jude Monkhouse in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Bastien Domenge ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Augusto Quintal was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 29th minute Carmelo Vachon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Ahmet Baki Tecimer in the 34th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Várzea F.C.'s Rogério Saldanha. 34 minutes into the match, La Maquina 9-12-18's goalkeeper Jose Vimaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jude Monkhouse. Ahmet Baki Tecimer hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Jude Monkhouse might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jose Vimaro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jude Monkhouse ran back to his position shaking his head. Jose Vimaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jude Monkhouse, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After some careless play in the Várzea F.C. defense, Carmelo Vachon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carlos Augusto Quintal. The Várzea F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Augusto Quintal should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jude Monkhouse made a kick off. If Luiz Eduardo Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. La Maquina 9-12-18:s Jose Vimaro showed great skill when he stopped Jude Monkhouse:s penalty. After a long run with the ball, Jude Monkhouse did a trick in the 58th minute in front of La Maquina 9-12-18's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 2-2. An impressive performance by Várzea F.C.'s Jude Monkhouse! Jude Monkhouse scored 3-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jose Vimaro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Várzea F.C. made a substitution. Dé Montenegro replaced Jude Monkhouse. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marcos Roberto the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Várzea F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marcos Roberto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 78th minute, the referee gave La Maquina 9-12-18 a penalty. Albert Gaardahl looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Carlos Augusto Quintal. Rogério Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bastien Domenge in the 84th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when La Maquina 9-12-18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Korthsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute Dé Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Vimaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 91 minutes, Jesus Eusko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Várzea F.C. and the La Maquina 9-12-18 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 97 played minutes Várzea F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Alf Tennenbaum. In the 98th minute, Carmelo Vachon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. La Maquina 9-12-18's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Várzea F.C. had won, even though La Maquina 9-12-18 had held more of the ball.
