Alketas Anastasakos went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 6th minute, Alketas Anastasakos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julien Staffelbach in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viriato Cruz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th minute Linköpings AIK were awarded a corner. Marbjörn Garpsson went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Marbjörn Garpsson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Viriato Cruz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 11th match minute, ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alketas Anastasakos to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Thymios Pantoflaras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jimmy Olsson was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 23rd minute, Arvid Carlsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Linköpings AIK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 36th minute of the match Linköpings AIK got a corner. ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marbjörn Garpsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Linköpings AIK's Jan-Erik Lundqvist getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Gilberto Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thymios Pantoflaras in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's goal looked a bit too open when Julien Staffelbach came free, but Viriato Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 played minutes ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ got a freekick which was hit by Thymios Pantoflaras.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julien Staffelbach was the one to do the kick off. Viriato Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien Staffelbach in the 50th minute of play. Viriato Cruz came out of the goal in the 50th minute to try and stop a shot by Linköpings AIK's Julien Staffelbach. But to his dismay, Julien Staffelbach quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Jan-Erik Lundqvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Viriato Cruz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jan-Erik Lundqvist ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jan-Erik Lundqvist got free with Viriato Cruz in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 54 played minutes Jan-Erik Lundqvist shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's Viriato Cruz to catch but Jan-Erik Lundqvist was lucky. It became 0-4 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's Alexis Thessalonikios was substituted for Thymios Pantoflaras. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marbjörn Garpsson during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Linköpings AIK getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Marbjörn Garpsson hit a great ball. In the 63rd minute, Julien Staffelbach ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Viriato Cruz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. The referee ignored ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's protests and gave Alketas Anastasakos a yellow card for diving instead. Alketas Anastasakos kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's Viriato Cruz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ from getting a goal against them. Viriato Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julien Staffelbach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's Alexis Thessalonikios in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Linköpings AIK's goalie prevented a goal. In the 79th minute Alexis Thessalonikios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimmy Olsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viriato Cruz made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Albin Nilsson sent off a good shot on target. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egemen Tuna in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Linköpings AIK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alketas Anastasakos was slow to take the kick. During this time ΑΣΤΕΡΑΣ ΣΟΛΟΜΟΥ's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the Linköpings AIK defense, Alexis Thessalonikios kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jimmy Olsson. The Linköpings AIK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jimmy Olsson should have stopped the shot. The Linköpings AIK players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
