The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruno Fonso got free with Jailson Teles in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a left leg Jailson Teles saved AVAÍ F.C. from getting behind. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by AVAÍ F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Phillip Hunt was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Ibiza's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Club Ibiza's Bruno Fonso to a score. 1-0 in the 11th minute. In the 17th minute Dario Alegría shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Higuita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bruno Fonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bruno Fonso came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jailson Teles could save by the left post. A nice corner shot did that Phillip Hunt got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jailson Teles quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 35th minute Club Ibiza were awarded a corner. Phillip Hunt went to the cornerflag to take it. Xie Bin Wei made a great header on Club Ibiza's corner, it was just that AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles managed to reach the ball for a save. Bruno Fonso was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 36th minute. Club Ibiza's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. AVAÍ F.C.'s Tarcisio Chaves was substituted for Valdir Martins. Club Ibiza's attentive Cacey 武磊 managed to snatch the ball when Manfredo Gerber made a throw-in in the 74th minute of the game. If Faustino Asprilla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. AVAÍ F.C.'s Jailson Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Asprilla in the 75th minute of play. Faustino Asprilla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jailson Teles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Faustino Asprilla might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jailson Teles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faustino Asprilla ran back to his position shaking his head. Jailson Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustino Asprilla in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Asprilla in the 87th minute of play forced AVAÍ F.C.'s goalkeeper Jailson Teles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
