The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiberiu Caramarin in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tobias Pepillo saved Compostela FSCMZ from getting behind. 9 minutes into the match, MIT Craiova's goal looked a bit too open when Boruc Poling came free, but Calistrat Madgearu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mihăiţă Ilarie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Tobias Pepillo made a huge save. In the 28th minute, Boruc Poling left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Compostela FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Tobias Pepillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiberiu Caramarin in the 37th minute of the match. MIT Craiova were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Compostela FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nicodim Orășan took the corner. MIT Craiova's Nicodim Orășan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tobias Pepillo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 39th minute Chicão Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tobias Pepillo. Tobias Pepillo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. 46 minutes into the match, Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Tobias Pepillo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mihăiţă Ilarie. Tobias Pepillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Vâtcă in the 47th minute. In the 48th minute of the match, Ivan Vâtcă got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tobias Pepillo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The MIT Craiova fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when MIT Craiova's Tiberiu Caramarin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 57th minute, Jaroslaw Niezgoda left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 79th minute of play forced Compostela FSCMZ's goalkeeper Tobias Pepillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
