In the 10th minute of the match Cremonese got a corner. Colognese FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Květoslav Kubalík ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alfredinho Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duvan Zapata in the 14th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Ioan Cocârlă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Colognese FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cremonese the free kick. After recieving a nice pass, Cremonese's Květoslav Kubalík tried to score from far away in the 20th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute Roman Chucho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredinho Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Cremonese's Jeremias Cruz got control of the ball when Ruben Casado tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Roman Chucho sped through Colognese FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alfredinho Carneiro. Alfredinho Carneiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Chucho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredinho Carneiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duvan Zapata in the 39th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes Colognese FC got a freekick which was hit by Rurik Öhlmann. Colognese FC's Alfredinho Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duvan Zapata in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roman Chucho in the 46th minute of play forced Colognese FC's goalkeeper Alfredinho Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ruben Casado was the one to do the kick off. Colognese FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
