Petr Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michal Hudák, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vernon De Marco to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute Thiago Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Štefan Semeno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Štefan Semeno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Reitsema in the 26th minute of play. If Tomáš Požgaj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomáš Požgaj in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petr Čech saved SCs StarS from getting behind. Štefan Semeno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Reitsema in the 37th minute of the match. Henk Zijden's late challenge caught a AFK Petržalka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henk Zijden helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd match minute, SCs StarS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henk Zijden to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Michal Hudák was the one to do the kick off. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomáš Požgaj in the 51st minute of the match. 52 minutes into the match, SCs StarS's goal looked a bit too open when Michal Hudák came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 54 minutes SCs StarS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Peter Pekarík who took care of the corner kick. Petr Čech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomáš Požgaj, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 58th minute Tomáš Požgaj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute, one of SCs StarS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SCs StarS. Henk Zijden kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Petr Čech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomáš Požgaj, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Vernon De Marco got a throw-in 76 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Igor Bališ. Thiago Gol's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Štefan Semeno firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Thiago Gol could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Štefan Semeno however easily saved by the left post. With a little luck, AFK Petržalka's Štefan Semeno got control of the ball when Thiago Gol tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 87th match minute, SCs StarS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wlodzimierz Kochanowski to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes had been played when some careless play by AFK Petržalka's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Wlodzimierz Kochanowski was slow to take the kick. During this time SCs StarS's players had a chance to rest. The corner led SCs StarS's Matthijs Ebbinge to fire away a dangerous shot which Štefan Semeno despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michal Hudák in the 95th minute of the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. AFK Petržalka were victorious despite being under pressure from SCs StarS for much of the match.
